Why is EasyHear better than current hearing aids? Current hearing aids that claim to have beamforming cannot possibly perform very well. This is simply because of the physical limitations of an effective beamformer. For beamforming to be effective, there must be at least two microphones, and the more the better. These microphones must have a minimum distance between each other. The wavelengths of the audio frequencies dictate such minimum distance. In order to perform acceptably over a frequency range for speech, the distance between the microphones must be more than a few inches. EasyHear can do this. Other hearing aids with claimed multiple microphones only millimeters apart cannot. |
