Why is EasyHear needed? Definitive hearing - Hearing aid users have difficulty in focusing on one sound at a time because the hearing aid amplifies all the sound it picks up. For people with normal hearing, they are able to concentrate on a sound source they choose, even in a noisy place because the human ear plays an important part in this differentiation. However, this is made virtually impossible by the conventional microphone / amplification system. In order for hearing aid users to listen without the annoyance of all the disturbances, the hearing aid must be able to discriminate between the sound and noise. EasyHear does this by limiting the microphone pickup area to that only of the sound source and then further reduces any noise that might be mixed in with the signal. Communication over phone - Many hearing aid users cannot use telephones or mobile phones because the sound from the earpiece of the phone does not go into the microphone of the hearing aid effectively. This is due to the design of such earpieces. Many telephones have telecoils in the earpiece for compatible hearing aids so that the sound is more effectively transmitted to the hearing aid but very, very few mobile phones have this feature. Hearing aid users are therefore normally restricted to using SMS on their mobiles. Now that many mobile phones are Bluetooth enabled, it is easy to connect the phone to EasyHear, which then allows the user to make and receive calls with perfect clarity. |
